The applications for second term enroll to IB DP
(International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) in Gimnazija
Banja Luka shall be in August 2009.
Mostly we offer the following subjects:
- Serbian HL or SL, or any other Mother tongue
(Compulsory subject);
- English HL, and Italian or German both SL or
HL;
- History, Philosophy, Psychology, ITGS, all SL or HL;
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics, all SL or HL;
- Mathematics, and Computer design SL or HL.

The second generation, September 2007 – May 2009

During the summer 2007 we had preparations of the school and teachers for the new school year. Enroll of the second generation of students for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Gimnazija Banja Luka had been in June and August 2007. The dead line for the students' enroll was August 28th and 29th. Interview with the new students were on August 30, 2007.
The enrolled students had chosen 6 subjects from 12 offered:
- Native language;
- English, Italian, German;
- History, Philosophy, Psychology;
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics;
- Mathematics, Computer science;
- Arts - wasn't offered.
Native language, English and Mathematic are three compulsory subjects. The student chose three subjects more from groups 2-5, so it is chosen at least one subject from each of the five groups 1-5. |
During the two years in IB DP students are going to listen subject Theory of Knowledge (ToK) and shall have CAS, that is Creativity, Action, Service.

In September 2006 has started the first generation IB DP in Gimnazija Banja Luka with 10 students: Sonja, Sara, Branislav, Milana, Dragana, Tijana, Nenad, Vanja, Andrea and Srdjan.

Each of the students listen six subjects during the two years IB1 and IB2, that is third and fourth class of the Gimnazija. The subjects are: Native language (all Serbian); English, Italian, German; Information technology, History, Psychology; Physics, Chemistry; Mathematics. Moreover, the students together have subject Theory of Knowledge (ToK) and have CAS.
The first IB DP Cooridnator was Rastko Vukovic, math teacher.
Certificate
The Gimnazija Banja Luka has certified on July
31st, 2006 that it is authorized to offer the Diploma Programme
of the International
Baccalaureate Organization and to present candidates for examination.

After a year of preparations led by the Director Slavica Ivosevic and DP Coordinator Rastko Vukovic, the authorization visit had done Svante Ingler the Associate regional DP manager, and Gostisa Barbara the teacher in Gimnazija Bežigrad, on June 20-21, 2006.
Since their recommendations Gimnazija Banja Luka received Certificate of Authorization signed by Jeffrey Beard, Director General of IBO in Geneva on July 31, 2006.
